| Comments: In 2022, Japanese publisher Dai Nippon Kaiga released an excellent book entitled "Nippon Kaigunki no Tosho" (The Paintjob of the Japanese Navy Aircraft) with the English subtitle "Color profile for the Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft; Featuring A6M "Zero Fighter". It's a publication put together by the leading Japanese experts on the Zero fighter: Miyazaki Kenji and Nakamura Taizo. Nakamura in particular is an avid collector of Zero parts and has even created his own little museum.
The publication is full of color photos focusing on various areas of the Zero and explains in detail the differences between the various models.
There is also a small 13-page chapter on the Mitsubishi J2M2 "Raiden" (Jack) and an amazing 15-page chapter on the Mitsubishi G4M1 in Ballale in the Solomon Islands with 60 super detailed color photos of the relic by Sakaida Yoji.
This book is a very highly recommended reference for anyone interested in Japanese aircraft especially the Zero (and "Betty").
Most of the text is in Japanese but there are a few captions translated into English.
